The Ardumower team has been developing and testing mowing robots for ten years while dealing with many sorts of technology. We mainly focus on wireless mowing without an induction loop, with the key technology for this being a satellite-based navigation. For a long time, there had been an issue with the great precision required for this navigation. Then the sufficiently precise systems became way too expensive. However, the past three years then were a game changer. Consequently, for two years now, the DIY Ardumower has been equipped with this technology and sells worldwide. Do not trust in empty promises – trust in true experience!

 

Easy mowing without induction loops

Thanks to a very recent GPS technology, there is no more need to put any effort into installing an induction loop. No more search for cable defects and no more complicated adjustments if you reinvent your garden! Alfred navigates through the area in a centime-precise manner. Furthermore, you can easily adapt  the mowing maps in your app to future changes in your garden.

Working efficiently means sustainability. Can you imagine anyone pushing their “usual” lawn mowers in a zigzag course while mowing certain areas of the lawn several times and missing out others completely? So it is always more efficient to keep to trails while mowing – and this is what Alfred does. This procedure saves energy and prevents wear-and-tear effects on the hardware. Plus, Alfred’s quicker working time compared to his “colleagues” working according to a chaos principle grants you more time to enjoy your garden.

Due to Alfred’s integrated GPS technology, you needn’t install his docking station on or around your lawn. Your clever robotic greenkeeper finds his way back „home“ wherever his station ís located! He further mows your lawn at whatever time you like – at daytime or even at night.

 

 


Easy-to-use mowing companion for everybody


You can control Alfred via your smartphone. Just create a map and determine an adequate position for your docking station – there you go! With the integrated GPS technology, it is blindingly easy to exclude obstacles in your garden and to change the mowing area.

Alfred puts safety first!

Your intelligent mowing companion has been equipped with several tools in order to detect problems and dangerous situations. All in all, the case was designed to “feel” existing obstacles along the way. This is an  important factor for preventing dangerous situations or unnecessary hardware damage. Several sensors are constantly monitoring all motors integrated into Alfred’s “inner life” in order to detect any odd movements. Some additional sensors monitor the location of the robot, e.g. to avoid bumping.

It is an easy-peasy task to assemble the mower according to the Alfred system. We also provide a detailed manual including graphics and videos to make your new robotic greenkeeper simple to understand. With this ROS LiDAR-GPS evaluation kit we give you a perfect starting point to implement your own, ROS robotic solution. We offer a pre-configured navigation platform with hard- & software, for faster software development and adaption of your hardware.
